Any applicant over the age of twenty-one years shall be eligible for election as an Active Member. Such members shall have all the privileges of the Institute, including the right to vote.In the event of liquidation, only members who shall have been Active Members (except as provided in Article III, Section 4 and 8 hereof) for ten years prior to the date fixed for the beginning of liquidation shall be eligible to participate in the distribution of assets. Contributing Members Section 3. Any applicant between the ages of twenty-one and thirty shall be eligible for election as a Contributing Member. Such members shall be entitled to all the privileges of the Institute except the right to vote or hold office (but such member may vote for and hold the position of Contributing Director as hereinafter provided) and, in the event of liquidation of assets, such member shall not participate in such liquidation. Associate Members Section 9. An Associate member must be the spouse or unremarried surviving spouse of an Active Member, Honorary Member, Life Member, or Senior Member currently in good standing or in the case of a deceased member in good standing at the time of death or a member, in good standing, of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Institute on April 30, 1988. When used in this section 9 the term "good standing" shall mean dues are currently paid and no privileges of the Institute have been suspended by the Board of Management. Associate Members shall be entitled to such privileges as the Board of Management shall determine, from time to time, after giving due consideration to the anticipated use of the Institutes facilities by other classes of membership. Associate Members shall not be entitled to vote for officers of the Institute nor for directors except for the representative of the Associate Members, said representative to be known as the Associate Director. In the event of the liquidation of the assets of the Institute, Associate Members shall not participate in the liquidation. Delinquency Section12. When a member shall have permitted a bill for dues or house account to remain unpaid for sixty days, the Secretary shall at once notify said member that if such bill be not paid within thirty days thereafter the member’s name will be posted on the bulletin board in the grill room as a delinquent, and a motion to suspend or expel the member will be made at the next meeting of the Board of Management. Delinquent members shall be those who have not paid their dues or house accounts within ninety days after the same shall have become due. No delinquent member shall have a right to participate in the management of the affairs of the Institute or to vote at any regular or special meeting of the Institute that shall be held during such delinquency. Any member who is about to be and shall actually remain absent from the United States for a continuous period of at least one year may, on application, and by vote of the Board of Management, be excused from the payment of due during such absence. No member who shall have been a member for over twenty-five years shall be posted for non-payment of dues. Such members may, however, be suspended or expelled for such nonpayment.
